French Immersion at NLSD
For the next month Northern Lights School Division is promoting its French Immersion opportunities in a fun and wacky way!
Tune into 101.3 Kool fm in Bonnyville, 95.3 K-Rock in Cold Lake and Big Dog 103.5 in Lac La Biche just after 8 a.m. for the "French Flicks" contest... NLSD will be testing the community's knowledge of French and you can also win some great prizes! The contest ends May 18th.

Northern Lights School Division No. 69 provides a
quality public education program with enhanced
learning opportunities to approximately 5,800
students in 27 schools in northeastern Alberta.
The most recent addition to our division is an
outreach school on Fishing Lake Métis Settlement. Our schools are located in Bonnyville, Cold Lake, Lac La Biche, Glendon, Plamondon, Ardmore, Caslan, Iron River, Wandering River, Kikino Métis Settlement, Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement and Fishing Lake Métis Settlement. The Youth Assessment Centre in Lac La Biche is operated by Northern Lights School Division under a contract with the Alberta government. The division covers a geographic area of 14,800 square kilometres. In 2001, Northern Lights School Division No. 69 won the Alberta School Boards’ Association Premier’s Award for School Board Innovation and Excellence for its literacy programs. NLSD was named a finalist for the same award for its Métis Culture and Heritage Project at Caslan School in 2004 and for its Student Leadership & Global Awareness Project (operating in all NLSD high schools) in 2008. Northern Lights was also part of the Success in School for Children and Youth In Care: Provincial Protocol Framework Initiative, which won a Silver Level Premier’s Award of Excellence in 2011.
