AP 241: Grade Level Placement

Background

The Superintendent believes that grade level placement decisions are to be made in the best educational interests of students.

Procedures

The Principal shall: Consult with parents when considering the placement of a student.

  1. Review with the student’s teacher(s) and/or support team, the academic, social and physical development needs of the student when grade level placement decisions are made.
  2. Consult with parents when considering the placement of a student.
  3. Consult with the Superintendent or designate when considering the placement of a student to be in a grade level that is not at the subsequent grade level for the following school year.
  4. Ensure that appropriate documentation is contained within the cumulative record to support the grade placement decision.
