Today’s students need to prepare for the high-skill careers of tomorrow. A Northern Lights School Division (NLSD) high school experience will help them succeed in a world where rapid change is the rule, not the exception.

Career Development is a process not a project. The process will evolve as the needs of the students change, and we deliver on our promise to prepare them.

Focused Career Development Provides:

  • Strong academic foundation
  • Enhanced career planning developed around career clusters
  • Improved employability skills with off-campus learning related to career goals
  • Completion and presentation of a career planning/employability skills portfolio endorsed by Alberta employers 
  • Business/industry commitment in providing off-campus learning sites
  • Credentials which enhance entrance opportunities into work or post-secondary program
  • Linkages with post-secondary programs providing opportunities for NLSD graduates
  • Partnerships developed involving local schools, parents, post-secondary institutions and business/industry
